  • Topic: Background

I am a mother 2 adult children with 2 grandchildren who are not in school. Both children barely graduated and only one attended CC upon graduation. I am now a returning college student who realized I needed that degree to get ahead in my career.

I am concerned with the use of the term accountability. It is not a 2 way street but a 4 way street. The teachers must be accountable for class room practices and the education process, the school districts must be accountable for the learning environment and tools. The kids must be accountable for owning their own learning and the parents must be accountable for the kids behavior and helping to work at home to make it all happen. One hint... Only measure the things you care about and that you can measure. Good metrics will lead to a better process for accountability.
