Attention:Welcome from Moderators

The fact that you are reading this message means that you have found your way into the dialogue area. As Moderators we welcome you! On this first day of the dialogue we are excited and expect great things. 

As you start posting messages please start with a brief introduction so that everyone knows who you are and your interest in education in California.

Today's panelists are Dede Alpert, State Senator, Chair, of the Joint Committee to Develop a Master Plan for Education and Trudy Schafer, California League of Women Voters. They will be providing their insights throughout the day.

The goal today is to explore the background to the Master Plan. This will set the stage for more detailed discussions about subjects like Student Learning, Emerging Modes, Professional Personal Development, School Readiness, Facilities and Finance. These conversations will take place on subsequent days. On the last two days we will discuss cross-cutting issues that are important for many of these topics.
