The Pennsylvania Department of Education has created a web site to serve as
a clearinghouse for information on the implementation of the E-rate in
Pennsylvania. You can visit the site by going to the Department's web page
at:
	www.cas.psu.edu/pde.html
Click on "Issues and Intiatives"

Information avilable on the site includes:
	* A complete guide to the Universal Service Fund
	* Links to the latest news from the FCC
	* A link which searches 300 news sites for articles
	  on the E-rate
	* An E-rate PowerPoint Presentation
	* Links to the FCC, PUC, and other resources

Estimate discount calculations for every school and library in Pennsylvania
are being finalized and should be avilable soon. I would like to thank the
Center for Rural Pennsylvania (www.ruralpa.org) who provided the
calculations. Members of the PUC Schools and Libraries Taskforce were also
instrumental in helping to provide these estimates.

I also hope to have some interactive discussion forums where schools and
libraries can share strategies and discuss issues surrounding the E-rate
implementation.

As more E-rate details become available, they will be placed on or linked
to from the web site.

If you have any sugestions in how we can improve the site to meet your
needs, please feel free to contact me at assist@microserve.net
