Thank you for joining us in the Roundtable on Women and Minorities.
This is a topic of special importance for any discussion of
Social Security reform, since women and minorities are
disproportionately influenced by the structure of Social Security.
Our panelists for this Roundtable are
John Banks-Brooks
Heidi I. Hartmann
Kilolo Kijakazi
Darcy Olsen
Anna Rappaport
William E. Spriggs
and the discussion will be moderated by Maureen West of the
Arizona Republic.
We will follow the same procedures as in other Roundtables
in the National Dialogue on Social Security: be brief, polite
and on-topic. Please refer to the Rules of the Road on the
home page of the National Dialogue Website for details.
As Congress moves closer to the discussion of specific
proposals for reform and the enactment of reform
legislation becomes a real possibility, the issues
raised in this forum take on new significance. We
invite you all to take part in the process of defining
the relevant issues and building a public understanding
of their importance.
Thanks for your participation.
