This has been a good discussion. Thanks to Andre Dermant, Javier
Jimenez, Joe Blazenski, Ken Diamond, Lisa Furia, Mark Gibb, Marv.
Rohrs, Richard Arnold, Robert MacDonald, Walter Hart and others
for exchanging ideas in a polite forum on a very important topic.
Why have we not heard from any Senators or Representatives?
Among other purposes, this forum was designed for us to provide
them with input as they debate the future of Social Security. If
they do not participate, and rely merely on the summaries, they
will surely miss important points and fail to get a sense of the
opinions out here.
I realize that Members of Congress are scheduled to participate in
another phase of the program, but they should be watching all the
phases, don't you think?
[Moderator's Note: Next week's Roundtable will include four
members of the House Ways and Means Committee. See links
off the National Dialogue page for details.]
