Thanks for the hard work making sense of this complex issue.  We 
have known for years about the IOU's in the empty trust funds and 
I am encouraged that there is a bi-partisan centrist position to 
address the bankruptcy of the SS system.  As a small business 
owner, I see the onerous effect of the enormous tax burdens of 
the government making life extremely difficult, especially for 
entry level workers.  Every effort MUST be made to freeze or if 
possible lower this tax burden.

It is also important to begin allowing those who are willing to 
participate in preparing for their own future to invest some of 
the money being deducted from their hard earned income.  That is
why I support the Economic Security 2000 position of allowing at 
least a portion of deductions to be privately invested, much like 
IRA accounts and other savings vehicles.
