Central Technical Services (CTS) department at the University at
Buffalo has been involved in an ongoing project since 1997 to
provide government document and pamplets on line.
<http://ublib.buffalo.edu/libraries/units/cts/acq/doctab.html>
The site is being promoted to academic and public libraries as a
source of general information on popular topics.
According to the librarian in charge of the project many reference
librarians recommend it to students as starting point for research
on topics ranging from anorexia to water pollution.
The department is very proud of the fact that the Library Programs
Service and Government Printing Office have not only commended
the site, but have also approached the library department for advice
on formats and the processes used in its development.
Currently they are working to improve the site: to provide text
document equivalents for W3C accessibility; reorganize the subject
categories and metatag the pages to improve searchability.
The Government Documents Brochures & Pamphlets project is been
mentioned in "Information Today"--Sept. 12, 2000. See

Take a look!
Cheers,
