I agree that there seems to be almost no agreement on anything, save possibly a feeling of unease about how things are.

One person's "crusading reformer" is another's "hypocritical protector of incumbents."

One person's "bribing lobbyist" is another's "helpful legislative educator."

One person's "reasonable limititation" is another's "unconstitutional infringement."

Concerning the self-selected nature of this group, assuredly we are atypical of the entire citizenry. Like it or not, money, politics, and its reform usually shows up in polls as having a rather low priority among issues of concern to the public.
