Andy,
For the record, I believe tha tour constitution prescribes a representative form of government - a Republic -- and not a system where all voters cast a ballot for all decisions.
The corporations and special interest groups -- like the Sierra Club -- have power and influence because of voter sloth and ignorance, and because elected officials do not prform their role of representing the people who elect them.
