Financial contributions to campaigns are not covered under the First Amendment. In reality "let be" approach to campaign spending, actually robs minorities, like blacks and hispanics, and middle class Americans of their political voice. Less than 1% of Americans actually give over $200,let alone $200,000. The average American does not have the means to contribute extravagant amounts to campaign. Consequently, their support for a particular campaign cannot be seen through the gifts of rich patrons and big business. Essentially, this is a tyranny of the minority, a very undemocratic practice.
