While I don't think the Federal Government should be altogether done away with, I suppose at the cruxt of this issue is the Fed's role in our lives (if power/money is at the root of all things, remove power/money from the Fed and make it less important). I would be much happier to have the states have condiderably more power than they do. Programs mentioned like Headstart, Hot Lunch, and healthcare could be much more efficiently and compassionately handled by the states.

I have always felt that my vote for mayor will affect my life a great deal more than my vote for president. I look to the Fed for national defense, interstate transportaion (roads and air traffic control), and international issues where the power of the larger body is needed. Other than that, I prefer things handled as close to home as possible.
