Of the three choices presented thus far, Choice 3 seems to me to be the least effective. I'm all for full disclosure, but disclosure alone strikes me as putting a band-aid on a Lymphomia patient. I don't believe that the NRA, "Big Oil," etc. (or the Sierra Club for that matter) would be sufficiently rattled by full disclosure.

The aid in quickly determining which of our elected officials are puppets for big money would be helpful, but not a complete solution. Would Strom Thurmon mind if we all knew how much money Tobacco has given his campaigns? I think he'd wear it like a badge of honor. Would Ted Kennedy cower under our knowledge of what labor unions have given him? Again, I don't think so. And more importantly, I don't believe it would prevent their constituents from continuing to elect them.
