"The EPA will remain at odds with the public as long as it is run by druids (i.e., zealots who worship trees and sacrifice people."
You know, I was talking to an EPA employee about this once as we were doing a Midwinter ceremony. "You know, John," I said, as we were about to rip out the still-beating heart of the victim we had tied to the sacrificial altar, "perhaps this human sacrifice thing is giving us a bad name. Do you think we should take this up at the next branch meeting of the subcommittee on public relations?" "That's a good idea," he replied as he reached for his special mistletoe pen. "Let's run it past the deputy administrator for administration and resources management." But with all the dancing around the great oak, his notes were lost, and the idea just slipped our minds. Can we add this suggestion to the official summary and perhaps to the Draft Public Involvement Policy (revised) itself? No ancient druidical rituals of human sacrifice, please. And cut those travel allowances to Stonehenge.
