In the Office of Pesticide Programs at EPA, we use an email list that is built by people signing up on our web site (www.epa.gov/pesticides/). People on this list receive regular (once or twice a week, generally) email messages regarding pesticide news, which includes opportunities to comment on proposed actions, etc. It is not used beyond this outgoing email purpose, but it does give interested folks a way to quickly find out about events and new documents.
