A few points.

Firstly, as noted by some people already, the deadlines for this dialogue heavily weigh against folks as far west as Alaska and especially Hawai'i. Classic EPA DC-based process. I have to deal firsthand with including folks in Alaska and Hawai'i in my work. Understanding the time difference is the first step. Not unlike the practice of holding public hearings during the day when most people work.

Also, a clip from today's agenda:

"Recommend ways for EPA to ensure that the public has adequate time to review information so that it can participate effectively in decision-making processes."

Provide months of advance notice to key bona fide local organizations in affected communities and provide the RESOURCES for them to do their job and get the word out.

Be willing to confront Agency higher-ups who don't want the real potential health and environmental harm clearly communicated to the public for political reasons.

Provide enforceable means for the public and bona find community organizations to require adequate time for public input from EPA.

Steve
