  • X-topic: Outreach

Judy Hines makes a good point about access to EJ protected populations, especially in the rural South. What with our love affair with the high-tech internet resources, we must remember that no everyone owns or has access to computers. Others are suspicious of high-tech media and the information they convey. All I am trying to say is, sure, let's use the internet, but let's not forget about the value of face-to-face interpersonal communication, especially for low-income and minority underserved groups--people trust people, and engendering trust is crucial to public acceptance and
support of our projects.
