Rich wrote in response to LaTonya: "There is a tendency to tell people that we are all responsible for environmental problems and that our focus should be on recycling, conserving, and other acts of personal virtue. That is nonsense." I agree! We need to stop and look closely at the lines we're fed by those in power. Examples abound that illustrate how people have been educated and (in)formed to accept as normal, natural, and beyond interrogation conditions that are in the interests of another group. Also, LaTonya might want to re-examine her patronizing comments about listening to old timers. Part of the problem is that government bureaucrats listen with their ears, but don't hear with their hearts.
