My name is Gail Horwitz. I am an attorney at New York Lawyers for the Public Interest in the Environmental Justice and Community Development Project. We work on behalf of grassroots community organizations in low-income communities of color throughout New York City on issues pertaining to environmental justice. I am interested in this discussion of how to improve public participation with regards to environmental matters. However, I come to this dialogue with a bit of skepticism-- a computer dialogue itself does not by its nature include "the hardest to reach" public. Nevertheless, I hope that this will be a good learning experience for those of us involved.
