Someone who wants to major in physics at a university needs advanced math classes and physics in high school. Someone who wants to become an apprentice furniture maker after high school does not need advanced math classes or physics. Requiring advanced math classes for a student good with wood but not good with sines and cosines would simply make his life uncomfortable for no good reason.
