RE: Adult Education Recommendation 38

Senator Alpert writes, "There is no perfect answer as to where to locate oversight of adult ed., but I believe a single entity needs to take responsibility." 

While we may not be able to come up with a "perfect answer," we certainly owe it to our students to give this critical issue some very serious thought. 

Again, we have really seen no analysis that would lead us to believe that placing adult continuing education under the oversight of the community college system would result in the intended benefits. On the contrary, we have heard a great deal of testimony to the contrary.  When it comes to adult continuing education, there is no Master Plan… and that is what we really need.
