I agree that the current adult education program and its students are signifcantly different from that of the community college. Adult education offers a safety net to "at risk" students who are not ready for the community college system and responds to their needs in a uniquely flexible way. It would be a mistake and not necessarily cost-effective to move adult education under the auspices of the community college system.
