accountability

As an educator, accountability is the buzzword at the administrative level. The API index seems to be the driving force behind almost every curricular decision in my district.The emphasis is aligning all the curriculum to the standards. Since the standards are reflected in the STAR test, the entire curriculm is developed to raise the API score. In a sense, we are doing what we as educators know is bad education; we are teaching to a test.  Brian Miller
