I agree with Mr. Runner. How can we provide equal revenue in very disparate districts? I've spent over 20 years in a number of districts in many different parts of the state. Revenue Limits are different just as land costs, construction costs, home prices, wages and gasoline all have different levels. This is a local issue, not a state issue. The problem is that the state uses local funding to fix a state problem (ERAF). We can't take from San Francisco to fix Riverside. We must find a local solution with a state augmentation to those localities who can't fund a basic minimum amount per student. However, many districts could fund a decent education program for all students if it wasn't for the Special Education unfunded mandate. We can't continue to provide Cadillac education to some and Chevrolet education to others. All students deserve an equal educational opportunity.
