I am disappointed to find that we are not looking more closely at how simple, organizational factors such as the use of time influence educational outcomes. It is shocking to see how poorly time is used in schools. However, research emphatically states that there is a high correlation between how much time is spent on task and the amount of learning that occurs.
There are many organizational factors that need to be examined and correlated for the role they play in precluding delivery of a rigorous, quality education. In many cases, simply being more organized will result in an improved educational system, the elimination of waste, and changed attitudes for administrators, staff, students and parents.
