RE: Technology training for teachers

The Federal dollars expended on technology training for professors and teachers has been very effective.  In addition, there is a technology requirement for the  teaching credential which assures that new teachers arrive in the classroom with basic knowledge and skills in applications of technology in the classroom.

Nevertheless, continued support of this type will be needed to maintain and increase  this level of proficiency for  preservice teachers, inservice teachers  and professors.

Unversities are also providing technology institutes for inservice teachers. However,I will let a K-12 person address other ways in which professional development in applications of technology  is being provided  within districts for inservice teachers.
