I agree with Frances Venn. The students and their view of school life is the primary block that must be laid if students are to find success. Nobody learns in a polluted environment where self-esteem and self-worth are non-existent and the staff does little to promote positive culture. Working in a micro-small school district has allowed our staff the unique opportunity to see the influence of changing our work ethics, the way we treat each other, the condition of the plant, and how we do our job! The results have been extraordinary. Students have emulated the attitude and it is reflected in all aspects of learning and student life. Everyone enjoys being here, staff and students alike. The climate and culture of the school is what drives good teaching. This in turn drives strong student learning, which has a significant impact on positive student assessment.
