Organizational Goals: Access, empowerment and inclusion: using technology to enable people to participate more fully in their communities and in the democratic process.
Guiding Principles: Scalability, sustainability and democracy: reaching large audiences with technology that can be meaningful to their lives.
Target Audiences: Underserved populations and the general public, community service providers, and the staff of government agencies.
History: Organized as a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation in 1996 after seven years of preliminary work in designing technology and organizing groups of people to make effective use of this technology.
