>From what I have seen of IS departments at schools, and school dietricts as well as what I have seen of a couple of schools who have entered into agreements with ISPs to become providers to parents and students and members of the local community.....I would say NO. Reasons::: Most if not all IS departments are undermanned. Modem pools are a giant headache Real people in the real world expect real service--schools are not in the real world Schools would be expected to subsidize those who cant afford service but would NEVER be compensated for the cost to do so. Most school IS DEPARTMENTS DO NO UNDERSTAND CURRENT TECHNOLOGY STANDARDS This list could go on and on but the bottom line is that schools are a poor choice as providers in any just about any scenarion that I can think of. As a hub for some local surrounding schools you might get my attention. Otherwise forget it. Cheers! Currie
