Configuring a DEC
Etherworks Ethernet Card
These instructions are for the hardware
installation of an Ethernet Network Interface Card (NIC) into a
PC and should be done prior to setting up the networking
components in Windows.
- Exit Windows and go to the DOS prompt
- Insert the "Etherworks Ethernet Card" drivers
disk into Drive A:
- Type "a:" and then Return to
switch to the a: drive
- Type "nicsetup" and then Return
to start the ethernet card's setup and configuration
program
- Go to the "Tools" menu and select
"Change/View Permanent Settings"
- Using the "Tab" key to move between fields and
the spacebar to change values, change the following
settings to match: I/O Port Address: 280, IRQ: 10, Memory
Base Address: D0000, Memory Mode Setting: 32k
- Select Save and click on OK when
reminded to shut off the computer
- Select "Exit" from the "File" menu
- When you are at the DOS prompt, turn off the computer.
Your Ethernet card should now be ready to be configured
in Windows
