CK:P Collaborations
Common Knowledge: Pittsburgh involves a number of
different collaborations. As activities on the project expand these
collaborations will grow. Present activities include relationships
with the following groups:
- Carnegie
Library of Pittsburgh.
The Carnegie Library is working with CK:P in a
number of areas. These include:

Bridging the Urban Landscape is an line exhibit of Pittsburgh
history based upon photographs and text from the collection of
the Pennsylvania Room.
- The Three Rivers Freenet
is a mechanism for providing community members with public access
to the Internet.
- Internet access is planned for all country libraries.
- A public modem pool associated with the library's online
catalog provides a means of network access for students and
teachers with Common Knowledge accounts.

Digital Equipment Corporation.
DEC has provided equipment and technical support for
a number of CK:P sites and activities.
- Hill House
Association. Hill House is developing a community access
network for the Hill District of Pittsburgh and is helping to initiate
networking activities at six neighborhood schools.

Mattress Factory.
This museum of contemporary art is working with
CK:P to develop online presentations of art works -
from the museum, the Pittsburgh Public Schools and other sources.
- Pittsburgh Public Schools.
The PPS provides the educational environment for CK:P.
- Pittsburgh Supercomputing
Center. The PSC provides technical support for the
project and acts as the project's interim network access point.
- University of
Pittsburgh. The University provides assessment support
and project management.
