An Alphabet Poem

- a is for angel, bold and bright,
- b is for barnacle, cut off from light.

- c is for coffin, scented of pine,
- d is for doctor, a friend of mine.

- e is for eagle, so high in the sky,
- f is for father, who gives reasons why.

- g is for garnet, glittering in clay,
- h is for hornet, that stung me today.
-
- i is for iron, so strong and so rough,
- j is for jelly, such wiggily stuff.
-
- k is for kitten, so cuddly and cute,
- l is for lizard, he is sure is a beaut'.
-
- m is for monster, so weird and so wild,
- n is for Nancy, so much like a child.
-
- o is for ostrich, so feathery and tall,
- p is for Paul, who owns nothing at all.

- q is for quack, which is how my duck talks,
- r is for raincoat, that I wear on wet walks.
-
- s is for Sundays, always so dull,
- t is for Tommy, who's going to h***.
-
- u is for uncle, who takes me on trips,
- v is for vaccine, so I don't get sick.
-
- w is for world, so wonderfully wide,
- and X is the secret place, where I know I can
hide.

- y is for yesterday, which won't come again,
- and z is for good, because it's the end.
