PUBLIC INVOLVEMENT IN EPA DECISIONS

A National Dialogue convened by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency
and hosted by Information Renaissance
with additional support from The William and Flora Hewlett Foundation

Terry Amsler

I checked in most days during the dialogue and was impressed with the intelligence and the passion of the discussions. I found the summaries very helpful and learned a great deal directly from the discussions themselves and indirectly from materials that were referenced in the dialogue. The panelists, including the EPA staff, appeared well informed, committed and human.

The Foundation was very pleased to support this important work of the EPA through our grant to Information Renaissance. This was a particularly useful investment for us as we consider new funding directions.

I look forward to the evaluation and to better understanding how the EPA will make use of the dialogue. I am also interested in the real weight carried by the dialogue as opposed to the formal comment process.
