Ron,
   I I would like to applaud the American Academy of Actuaries for their
achievement of something that most politicians claim to want, but rarely
every attain: non-partisan thinking.  I have heard presentations as a 
Congressional aide from your organization, including a briefing by you, a 
few weeks ago, at which you presented the paper that you referred to in 
your opening remarks.  Hopefully you can bring a methodical, logical
voice to a forum that, too often, is overcome by the cacophanous voices
of rhetoric and blame from either side of the political spectrum.
