For those of you who participated in this forum who want to learn even more about the issue, I wanted to make you aware of a hearing before the House Ways and Means Committee next Wednesday and Thursday to discuss the different Social Security reform plans that have been proposed which would achieve 75 year actuarial balance. Congressman Kolbe and I will be testifying on our plan on Wednesday. The hearing will also include testimony by Congressmen Archer and Shaw on the Archer-Shaw plan as well as testimony by Senator Gregg (along with his colleagues Senators John Breaux, Bob Kerrey and Chuck Grassley will testify on the Senate bipartisan plan, and Congressman Nadler will testify on his plan. Hopefully, the hearing will be televised on C-Span. I will put the joint statement that Congressman Kolbe and I present to the hearing on my website at www.house.gov/stenholm.
