15.1 Is it possible that the Social Security Administration could send
out a statement to citizens annually advising them of what they
have paid and an idea of what might be expected in benefits?
The Social Security Administration now sends out such statements
if a worker request them. These are called Personalized Earnings and
Benefit Estimate Statements (PEBES) It is gearing up to send such
statements to everyone. The law requires that SSA send such statements
annually, starting in 2000.
