PUBLIC INVOLVEMENT IN EPA DECISIONS

A National Dialogue convened by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency
and hosted by Information Renaissance
with additional support from The William and Flora Hewlett Foundation


Mark Flory

Mark Flory is a State and Local Government Liaison in the Office of Congressional and Intergovernmental Relations (OCIR), U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. Mr. Flory is responsible for representing EPA to the National Conference of State Legislatures, the National Association of Counties, the Environmental Council of the States, the International City/County Management Association, and the National Association of Towns and Townships. He also serves as a Designated Federal Officer to the Local Government Advisory Committee, a Federal Advisory Committee focused on EPA programs. In this capacity, he works closely with local government representatives to provide them information about EPA activities and to create opportunities for local governments to have input into EPA policies and regulations. Since September 2000 Mr. Flory has served as the State & Local Team Leader in (OCIR).

Prior to his work in the Office of Congressional and Intergovernmental Relations, Mr. Flory served as Senior Budget Analyst on the staff of the Assistant Administrator for Water at EPA. In that position he developed an extensive knowledge of EPA's water quality and drinking water programs. Mr. Flory has worked for EPA for over 12 years. He graduated from the Maxwell School, Syracuse University in 1985 with a Masters in Public Administration.
