Caron Chess

Caron Chess is an associate professor at Rutgers University's Department of Human Ecology and director of Rutgers University's Center for Environmental Communication. Her experience in academia, government, and environmental advocacy underpins her research in risk communication and public participation. She is particularly interested in ways to evaluate public participation. In addition, she focuses on organizational factors that affect outreach efforts. She has served on the governing council of the Society for Risk Analysis and on the National Academy of Sciences' Committee on Risk Characterization, Board on Radioactive Waste Management, and Committee on NIH Research-Priority Setting.
