PUBLIC INVOLVEMENT IN EPA DECISIONS

A National Dialogue convened by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency
and hosted by Information Renaissance
with additional support from The William and Flora Hewlett Foundation

Posting Messages

During this National Dialogue you will be posting all your messages through a Web page.
  • You may post a message by clicking on either the POST A NEW MESSAGE or REPLY TO A MESSAGE links from the discussion indices or when reading a message. The first option initiates a new thread. The second option places your message in the same thread as the message you are reading.

  • Select a topic from the drop-down menu on the upper right hand corner. In most cased you will choose the day's agenda topic. You can select a different topic if your posting relates to agenda items that have been dealt with on previous days.

  • Fill in your name and e-mail address.

  • Either type your message in the message box, or compose your message in a word processor (so that you can edit it more easily), save it in text format and then paste it into the message box.

  • We offer a few tips for composing your message:

    • When replying to a message consider snipping the relevant part of the message and putting it into your text. This saves others' time because they do not have to read the earlier message.
    • Stay focused on the discussion topic of the day.
    • Define any acronyms that you use.
    • Keep if messages are concise.
    • When citing an online reference provide the URL, check that it is accurate, and provide a brief explanation of the value of the material.

  • Click on the SUBMIT button.

  • Your message will be processed and will appear in the message indices a short time later.
