What we all want is probably pretty similar-- honorable elected officials, integrity in our electoral process, and a strengthening of democracy. Maybe the real question should be, "What are we all willing to give up?" A little perceived free speech? An edge in access to lawmakers? A feature of the system that has helped a pet office holder stay in office? Until we have concensus that we're all willing to plut aside self interest for the interest of the country-- looking for agreement could be little more than chasing our tails.
