Rod,

I agree with you in that trustworthy, accurate, reliable, and 
timely information is not always accessible or decipherable 
for the average Joe. In fact, I believe that you have 
understated that problem.

Never-the-less, I believe that we average Joe's can  do more 
that just wait for direction and guidance from our 
government to combat the influence of the monied interests.  
Corporations, PACs, unions, etc can  buy advertising space 
but the average Joe's can vote. That is where the real power 
is.

We have a responsibility to make a reasonable  effort to be 
informed and then to vote. We can never be perfectily 
informed but we must do more that simply depend upon the 
advertisments.

In other words, if one wants to play ball he/she should learn 
the rules of the game and then get in shape or expect to be 
unduly pushed around. That  will take some effort but it can 
be done.

In my view money has more power than it deserves mainly 
because we let it.
