  • X-topic: Local Issues/Superfund

In response to Jerry Filbin - In my community here in Massachusetts I find the biggest problem with getting the local residents involved are little or no advertisment of local meetings being held by EPA to educate the community, and also no support from our local Elected Officials. I think the EPA needs to work harder at getting the information out to the general public when it comes to Superfund Sites. I know that some people don't want the publicity due to real estate values but, the public has a right to know what is going on in their own community. The EPA also needs to find a way to get the local government to get more involved beyond DEP and BOH. This is my personal experience with the Superfund Site I am involved with at Sutton Brook Disposal area in Tewksbury MA. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
