i know exactly what you mean! i did some campaign finance research for the group i'm working with and found that from city officials all the way up to national political officials (big surprise) that represented these folks had taken substantial monies from the oil and gas industry and other large polluters. this significantly impacts the process as EPA and other regulators are part of that process!
