After I re-read my comment...
"this online dialog better figure out a way for the public to be a part"... I realize I used a bad choice of words.

What I was trying to say... was that EPA and the public needs to identify "politics" as an issue that limits public participation and discuss the issue on line as to how we can manage the concern just like we talk about the other issues identified.

I am interested to hear how others manage similar situations.

I have never been involved in an environmental issue where "politics" was not adversely affecting public participation.

Please tell me how "politics" is managed by the public and EPA in your town or state.
