I am a 77 year old retired bilingual school psychologist but I will start my fifth year in September as a volunteer in that position in an elementary school in East Los Angeles. I am also deeply involved in several pro bono organizations which deal with special education issues. I read information about this Dialogue on E-mail from the Los Angeles League of Women Voters and thought it would be an appropriate place for me to learn about a subject that I know nothing about --- and really exercise my dendrites! I am certain that I will have to take advantage of the Briefing Book often before I can make any comments or suggesions .....now, I am going to start by reading the entries on the Agenda.
