Hi, my name is Scott Blair, I work in the EPA, Superfund enforcement program (OECA/OSRE) here in Washington. I have worked in this program since joining the Agency (right out of graduate school) over a dozen years ago. I am a scond generation bureaucrat - my father was a career diplomat with the U.S. State Department. I am a "program analyst," and spend most of my working hours overseeing management of our program in the ten EPA regions. I am also heavily involved with information management and oversight. I rarely deal directly with the public. I volunteered for this discussion. Why? Perhaps because I still believe public service is a noble calling, and perhaps because the thought of actually communicating with the real public as opposed to faceless bureaucrats and soulless machines, appealed to me. Regardless, I am well versed in Superfund issues and hopefully should be able to contribute some of my expertise and experience to any discussion on the subject.
