To get Californians involved,

I think this process is very valuable. This was my first experience with this type of discussion and I look forward to continuing with you in this venue or other venues.

Assemblywoman Charlene Zettel has an education advisory committee that meets on an ongoing basis. It gives us the opportunity to hear directly from her the intent behind legislation, to hear about discussions that occured around legislation, and for us to give her responses to pending legislation and already passed or defeated legislation. This small group contact has been very valuable. A representative is invited from each school district, the county office of education, and the local colleges and universities. We talk to other people in our areas before and after the meeting to bring concerns and questions. Not everyone can come every time but it makes a difference when you know your legislator is interested enough to provide the opportunity.

I did not have the opportunity to attend the town hall meeting you held in San Diego on the Master Plan. I hope it went well. What a great opportunity to remind people of the principles of democracy and what it means to be an active citizen.

Thank you for all the work you are doing on the plan.
