In response to your question Joan:

The draft MP was distributed through a variety of venues. Hard copies were mailed to school superintendents, county offices of education, state libraries, other state agencies, and to individuals who have been involved in monitoring the development of the first draft of the plan over the past two years. In addition, the plan was posted on the Joint Committee's web page and emails sent to hundreds of civic, community-based, and educational organizations and individuals notifying them they could be view the plan electronically and print it locally if they desired. A concerted effort is underway to get media coverage in newspapers, radio, and television to encourage Californians to review the draft Plan and offer feedback if they should so desire.

Unfortunately, despite these efforts to publicize its availability, large numbers of parents, students, and business representatives remain unaware of its availability or content. This edialogue is another attempt to reach out to Californians who do not typically follow the education policy environment. We have been encouraged by the number of people participating in the e-dialogue these two weeks; more than 1,000 responses have been posted to date.
