RE: Exemptions to STAR and other standardized testing

Bravo, JS Kelly!  When the news is full of reports of kids who were told they failed their state's test, only to find out that wasn't true, it's time to look at a different way to evaluate our children.  I have exempted my daughter for two years now, and her older sister last year.  She wanted to take it this year, so I let her.  

I have a hard time with tests like the HSEE, which essentially discounts all the prior years of education a student has had.  This is not a good thing for the children of California.
