RE: Technology in Education
Richard Parsons on Emerging Modes writes: Since it is becoming nearly impossible for high schools to hire top notch science and math teachers, perhaps the state department of education can produce top notch, distant learning courses in certain subjects, put them on CD's, and give them to each school. A teacher who couldn't generate the class may then be able to administer the class with this help. What a wonderful idea and educational "tool". Even if an instructor is very qualified and experienced, such a CD's would be an excellent resource for both the instructor and student. In the classroom, each instructor generally approaches a topic a particular way. Some students will not understand the presentation for a variety of reasons- including poor course placement. This type of software will provide a different approach, which is time independent. as some students need more time to digest and learn a topic than others. |
