  • Topic: Background

I just want to give the bit of feedback that it is not feasible even for a college educated professional to absorb the amount of material being posted, in the time frame allowed, (especially given a full day's teaching load -- which in adult ed is 6 student contact hours, no breaks or preparation periods included, apart from preparation, grading etc), and to really engage in this process as a "dialogue." I am skimming, following threads and adding to them, checking out the briefing books and the plan itself, contributing my perspectives as a parent, a teacher who has worked at many different 'levels' but whose passion and commitment is to adult learners (often underserved, under-represented, and denied resources taken for granted at both K-12 and post-secondary education). One of the moderators suggested that we needed to read what everyone else said before commenting. This is an insuperable obstacle for someone with a full-time job, a family and many other personal and social responsibilities and political commitments.
